WEST Wilts Horse Trials held two very successful EquestrianClearance.com BE80(T) sections which saw more than 60 competitors taking part.
With tough competition in both sections, it was the more experienced horses that took the honours, showing they still have what it takes.
The first section saw Daventry based Yvonne Jackson and her 20-year-old gelding Chester take the honours.
Completing the dressage phase on a score of 32.0 penalties, it was not the highest score of day, however, after putting in two foot perfect rounds in the showjumping and cross-country phases the pair moved to the top of the leader board.
In the final section, Wiltshire based Carol Lovelock and her 13-year-old gelding Ricardo went straight in at the top after an excellent dressage performance.
With just a 0.5 penalty lead, the pressure was on, but in great form Carol and Ricardo completed the show jumping and cross-country with a double clear, holding on to their dressage score and their win.
