EMMA Stoker and Whisper Xl took the honours in the EquestrianClearance.com Newcomers second round at Rowallan Activity Centre in Ayrshire.
The class saw 46 starters compete over Mark McGowan’s course, with 14 out of the 21 combinations which jumped clear in the first round left to fight it out in the jump-off for their qualifying tickets.
Eighteen-year-old Emma from the East Riding of Yorkshire captured the class riding Carron Nicol’s eight-year-old bay gelding Whisper XI.
Although drawn over half way down the jump off order, with only two clears ahead of her, Emma jumped a clean round in a time of 38.88 seconds. This put her into the lead and then all she could do was sit back and watch the last few competitors.
Fortunately no one could beat Emma’s time, and so the pair took their qualifying ticket for HOYS.
