Fifteen-year-old Frankie Currell secured the top spot in the EquestrianClearance.com BE80(T) Section J class held at Howick Horse Trials.
Frankie, with her seven-year-old gelding Clare Island Robe, won with a superb dressage mark of 37.5 and finished with clears in the showjumping and cross-country phases.
Known as Robbie at home, the 14.2hh Connemara usually takes part in showing and PC activities with Frankie on board. This was Frankie and Robbie’s first affiliated British Eventing event and they kicked off their eventing career in style.
Frankie said of the event; “I had a fabulous time and Robbie was a real star. I am very grateful to the event organisers and sponsors for holding the BE80(T) series.”
Frankie and Robbie are now hoping to compete again in the EquestrianClearance.com BE80(T) series this time at Broadway Horse Trials, Worcestershire at the end of the month.
